It took us a year to trap Neelix. She was pregnant again, and gave birth to her last litter of kittens in our care. She was a wonderful mom, and even adopted three older kittens from another mama cat from her colony. After her kittens were adopted, we spayed Neelix and moved her to our feral recovery ward to monitor her incision, give pain meds and evaluate whether she might be receptive to humans now that she wasn't in protective mama mode. She remained fearful for the first few days until we brought Maravel in. When the two were reunited, we got to meet a whole new Neelix. She became the kitten she never had a chance to be in the forest, and is hilariously playful. She adores Maravel, and he makes her feel safe. When he is snuggling with her, we can pet her and she purrs and is so happy. She is still at the beginning of her socialization with humans, but she is so happy with Maravel we are hoping to find a home where the two lovebirds can stay together forever.
Gave birth to three kittens in our care, was reunited with her one true love, Maravel, and is living happily ever after.
